Prepared with the participation of ICEACSA Group, shows how a good analysis of traffic-related parameters have a positive impact on road safety and profitability of infrastructures.

The Regional Minister of Environment, Territory and Infrastructures, Mr. Agustín Hernández, accompanied by the Director of the Galician Infrastructure Agency, Mrs. Ethel Vázquez, presented at a press conference the Traffic Report of  the Regional Road Network of Galicia 2012. The Traffic Report is a statistical document that analyzes the movement of vehicles transiting the regional road network, thanks to the information collected, among other means, for 270 gauging stations spread throughout the network, resulting in the management of about 8 million data a day. All these parameters are used as a basis for traffic regulations and for the planning and operation of the road network. Thus, in this Report 2012, it becomes clear how the latest high-performance roads placed in service by the Xunta de Galicia (Variant of Marín, Third Bypass of Coruña and Bypass of Orense), have allowed to take out more than 6 million vehicles from urban centers, resulting in a significant improvement in road safety.
